COVID-19 GYM UPDATE – MEMBERSHIP LOYALTY – REOPENING PLAN/TIMELINE 05/18/20
Fit Club is currently closed as required by the San Francisco Shelter In Place ordinance
Dear Fit Club Community,
We are writing to update you on the potential timeline for reopening and let you know about some of the measures we will have in place when you work out at Fit Club next.
Today, we listened to Mayor London Breed, the Director of public Health and the Director of Disease Prevention and Control of San Francisco discuss the status of the various phases and requirements for businesses to reopen safely. As you may already know, gyms fall under Phase 3 along with all other personal and hospitality services. They feel that we are following a positive trajectory and that Phase 3 is at least one month out. This is good news! We are preparing for a July 1, if not sooner reopening.
In preparation for a return to working out together in the gym, we want to let you know we will be making some changes to the way we do things to make sure we do our best to keep our staff and you and your families safe and healthy. We are working on our plan of carefully considered protocols and guidelines, as well as modifications that will evolve along with this very fluid situation but will reflect at all times a goal of health, safety and well-being in conjunction with following required government safety requirements.
In the meantime, as we wait for authorization to reopen safely, we ask for your ongoing support during our temporary COVID-19 mandated closure and to maintain your membership with us. With your presence, we have built a great neighborhood gym community. Like many of the small business in our neighborhood and San Francisco we were not able to benefit from the recent SBA/Federal aid programs.
Many small businesses like us, were not financially prepared to close for several months without income and many will not reopen. As you know, we purchased Fit Club in January 2019 and upgraded most of the equipment and made many modifications and upgrades over the last year. We have made long term investments in the gym and for our members.
With the support we have received from of our members thus far and your continued support, we will be able to reopen.
We would like you to know that the membership that you will be paying will allow us to pay mandatory expenses and will allow us to once again open our doors to serve you and our community. Money will help cover the following expenses:
Rent and utilities
With the sincerest gratitude,
Emerald and Derek Bloom | Fit Club
